Contact / Submissions
If you are an author with a bunch of short stories hiding in your draw, covered in dust, or forgotten about sitting on your computer somewhere, then we want to publish them.
It is very easy to do.
1. Get a Word Press account here. When you do you will be set up as a “contributor”. That means someone has to look at your work before it is published (just to make sure it’s not spam or porn). After you’ve published a few articles you will be made an “author” which means you will be able to publish your own work directly.
2. Make sure that you have a Fraxion Payments account. Although this will happen automatically when you go to publish your first Kwik Read.
3. Then log in here, write and upload your stories, lock the article and set your price. When readers unlock and read your stories, royalties, which we pay 90%, will be sent to you (conditions apply which come from Fraxion Payments).
Note: Categories
When you go to upload you story you will see that there are a number of categories available.
This is purely a list that seemed to make sense. But of course if you absolutely need a different one just email me and I can add it. You can get me at chris(dot)wilkins(at)fraxionpayments(dot)com.
Writing Suggestions
Here at Kwik Reads we don’t want to tell you how to write and nor do we have to. If your writing is good, then people will buy your work. If not, then they won’t.
But here are some suggestions. It is entirely up to you whether you use them or not.
Make sure you run the spell checker as the last thing you do. Readers hate finding basic spelling mistakes.
Make sure your grammar is consistent. For example, you use the same tense throughout your article. Don’t switch between past (I had, I went) and present perfect (I have had, I have been). Using simple past is often the best (I ran, swam, etc).
Have appropriate paragraph breaks.
Make sure you read it at least four times (six would be better) before publishing your story. This is looking for mistakes and errors that you may have missed.
As with anything, the better you get at it, the more readers will seek you out and buy your work. Good luck.
Conditions
1) The author retains all right. That is they relinquish no rights. They merely give Kwik Reads permission to display and charge a fee to readers.
2) The author may withdraw their story at any time. Outstanding payment for sales will occur at the next monthly process.
3) The author’s net royalty percent will not change without negotiation between author and Kwik Reads.
4) Kwik Reads may change the default royalty for submissions from time to time (for future submissions) but that will not change any existing royalty settings in any way.
